It was a busy weekend in the Scouts and Jr. Scouts programs as we saw the highest attendance all year, probably because of all the fresh snow!!  Our classes rushed out the door Saturday morning to take advantage of one of the first powder days all year.

Many of our coaches completed their Park 101 training this weekend, so our more advanced classes may begin to be introduced to our small Park area off of Little Sister.  We still encourage skiers to get their PEEP’s pass here:  http://loonmtn.com/info/rideloon/peeps.aspx

We’re looking forward to a fun filled February vacation here with some great skiing and riding accompanied by some fun activities!  If you’re considering taking a day to rest at any point during the week, Tuesday or Thursday would be ideal as that will be our lowest staffed day.

Think Snow!

We are getting ready for our favorite week of the season.  Thanks to Mother Nature, we have awesome conditions.  We still have some space in dog sledding, if you want to sign up, go to the link and pick your time.  If you have signed up we need to have you sign a release of liability (of course!) and pay by check in the dev team builidng by Sunday.  We are in the process of rescheduling the adventure center activities from last weekend.  Please make sure you check either the schedule emailed to you last week or the schedule on the door so you know when your child has an activity.  We had to postpone a few activities due to kids not having the right shoes.  If you have rock climbing you need sneakers, snow shoeing needs boots, and skating, if you have skates bring them.  Also please download and fill out the release of liability for the activity, having them ahead of time makes it much easier for the coaches.

Also, remember  for vacation week we will need to combine some groups due to some coaches having to work or go to school during the week.  Please see me if your child has any difficulty with different coaches or groups.  We try to match the groups up with similar ages and ability.

Finally, we have a week full of fun activities, we have loaded the list on our website so you can plan accordingly. We are kicking off the week with the SEASONAL SHOWDOWN.  Our big race is this Sunday on Rumrunner.  We had gates set up last weekend for all the groups to practice on.  We are hoping for some great racing.  Results and awards will be announced at 2:45 at the Dev Team Building.  Please join us!!

We are gearing up for an excellent holiday week! We picked up some more snow on Monday and again on Tuesday, with snow in the forecast for this weekend, conditions should be great.

I have spoken with a few of you who are interested in the Slope Style at Waterville on Sunday the 17th.  If you are planning on attending please use the Signup genius link below.  This is especially important because their Xteam coach will not go, and I need to make sure there is ample coaching at Waterville.

I hope you are all looking forward to a long stretch of training this coming week, we often see our greatest learning progression during this time!

If you plan to attend the Slope Style at Waterville Sunday the 17th please use the Signup Genius link below.
Snowboarders, GNU’s Lil’ Tweakers event is returning to Loon, Sunday the 17th.  I understand this event conflicts with the USASA Slope Style, the choice is yours to make.  Lil’ Tweakers is a 14 under grab contest.  Registration is 9-11am, contest starts at noon, this event is a free with a valid pass or day ticket.  Rumor has it there are some excellent prizes.
There will be trampoline training Tuesday the 19th from 2-3:30pm. I only have 6 kids confirmed at this point, if your children will be attending please let me know via email so we can solidify coaching for that afternoon.
Don’t forget about the tubing and pizza party on Wednesday the 20th at 4:15pm.  We have reserved tubing for an hour and will be followed by pizza, please use the second link below to indicate if you will be attending. This is a family
