It’s been an exciting week here at Loon. After some wet weather earlier this week, we decided to make snow on 5 trails Thursday night into Friday morning.
With temps in the teens and single digits, we were able to run the guns full-blast for about 18 hours on trails like Upper Picked Rock, Lower Picked Rock, Exodus, and Grand Junction. That snowmaking was a huge help and softened up some key trails just in time for the weekend.
It looks like Mother Nature took a cue from our own snowmaking. She gave us about 4″ of ultra-light pow just in time for first chair on Saturday, giving us some fantastic skiing and riding. The forecast calls for a bigger storm on Tuesday, with over 6 inches a definitely possibility.
