It was deep out there today. Very deep.
A quick-moving storm dumped 7-10″ of incredibly light and fluffy snow on the mountain Saturday night, giving us the deepest Sunday morning we’ve enjoyed in quite some time. Check out the photos.
If you’re interested in the numbers, we’re in the midst of a very snowy winter here at Loon. We’ve picked up 19″ of snow in the last week, 47″ in February (with measurable snowfall on 15 of the last 22 days), and 120″ so far this season. That’s equal to the height of an NBA basketball rim. That’s deep.
Our average yearly snowfall is 160″, and we’ve got another 2 months of snowfall ahead of us. Something tells me we’ll see some pretty crazy snowfall totals by the time spring makes its way to the mountains.
