With winter officially over and mud season coming on strong, we’re already busy preparing for the 6th Annual Monster Mud Run on July 9. With Online Registration now open, you should be, too.
This mischievously muddy 5k will challenge runners with more than 20 mucky obstacles spread out across steep ski trails and dense White Mountain forest. Along the way, racers will drag snowmaking hoses through the mud, crawl beneath barbed wire, and test themselves in some pretty fun and amazing ways. This year’s race will also feature a free Mini Monsters race for kids, with pint-sized obstacles for children 13 and under.
While the Monster Mud Run was designed for runners of all abilities, racers looking to compete at the highest level can enter an all-new ‘Elite Heat’ capped at 75 participants. Course marshals will be on-hand to ensure each elite-heat racer completes all 20-plus obstacles. Find out more about the Elite Heat here.
Even if you’re not in the elite heat, you’ll have fun challenging yourself on obstacles like Snowmaking Boot Camp, Sadistic Slalom, and the Plunge of Paul Bunyan. With names like that, it isn’t hard to imagine just how fun the Monster Mud Run really is. Actually, you don’t have to use your imagination. Save your energy for the race, and watch this video from last year.
Following the race, runners will enjoy a relaxing summer afternoon with music, lawn games, barbecue, and refreshments. An awards ceremony will also follow the race, with prizes going to top individuals and teams. Prizes for best team name and best costume will also be awarded.
Online registration runs through July 4, 2016. The first 100 racers can save $10 on registration by using the coupon code: FIRSTUP. Entry fees will increase for race-day registration, so you should sign up soon! For more info about the race, just click on over to the Monster Mud Run homepage.
We’ll see you at the starting line on July 9!
