The Reason for the Season(al) Programs

Seasonal programs – it’s one of those words often tossed around when you’re on the mountain. What is it you may ask? It’s a season-long ski or snowboard program for any winter lover starting at age four and all the way up past 50.

These programs are perfect for those looking to increase their on-snow skills, while building life-long friendships and becoming a part of Loon’s passionate winter community.

Scouts

Start ’em young folks! In Scouts, kids four and five-years old will get to explore the mountain and make new friends while developing their skiing and riding skills. Scouts spend four hours on snow with a coach with plenty of snack breaks.

Program starts mid-December.

Development Team

From snowplows to S-turns, the “Dev Team” is the next step up for young skiers and riders. From ages six to 17, kids to explore the mountain, work with coaches, and improve their skills from racing and park to trees and moguls. This is the perfect program for intermediate and advanced skiers, to take them to the next level

Competition Team

With its award-winning progression of terrain parks, Loon Mountain Resort is the ideal training ground for aspiring snowboarders and freeskiers – and the Competition Team is how they reach the next level. Eight to 17 year olds can be a part of Loon’s most intensive seasonal program with training from PSIA/AASI and USASA certified coaches. This means 42 days on snow, plenty of work and just as much fun.

Program starts early December.

Flying 50s

Who says that skiing is only for kids? Join a community of fellow skiers and riders 50+ and score first tracks and make new friends. Catch up over coffee in the morning before heading out to carve up that freshly made corduroy.

Program starts early January, held on Thursday and Fridays, non-holiday.

New England Disabled Sports

Winter sports are amazing, and the people that do them make them that much better. At Loon, we’re lucky to have NEDS right here, an award-winning adaptive sports program, right on the slopes so that anyone who wants to be a part of our winter community can. With their intensively trained instructors and variety of adaptive equipment, we can’t wait to see you on the hill.
